Movie Review – Zootopia

There’s a world where animals have evolved to a higher level of think, far past their basic instincts. However, animals all over uses their natural abilities to their advantage. Rabbits farm and the King of the Jungle is Mayor. It’s perfectly sufficient to use your natural talents to cement your place in life, but what if you could achieve more? What if you could change your predestined station in life and follow your dreams? Since she was a kit, Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) of Bunnyborrow has always stood up for the little guy, even though she’s pretty tiny herself. While her overprotective parents Bonnie (Bonnie Hunt) and Stu (Don Lake) would rather see Judy join her 237 siblings and maintain the family farm; Judy wants to protect and serve in the Zootopia Police Department.  Continue reading “Movie Review – Zootopia”

Movie Review – Identity Thief

02-08identity_full_600   I’m a firm believer of the idea, at the core of every great film is great writing. Think about it. The script is the backbone of the film. It’s the difference between a film and improv. Craig Mazin wrote the screenplay for Identity Thief. His credits include: Scary Movie 3 and 4, Superhero Movie, The Hangover: Part 2 and the upcoming Hangover Part 3. Four movies and four examples of fail. With The Hangover: Part 3 scheduled to be released in the spring, Mazin is stepping to the plate with potentially, his fifth straight dud of a script. Though the script makes up the large majority of what makes this film what it is, blame must be spread evenly. Continue reading “Movie Review – Identity Thief”

MOVIE REVIEW – The Change-Up

The Change-Up

Most of us have heard the old saying, “the grass is greener on the other side.”  And the vast majority of ourselves looks at other people and thinks they have it all, are better at certain things, or get jealous of the way they live their life.  I’m 100% guilty of that more than at least once per day.  So the question than presents itself, would you switch with someone else if given the chance?  Do you think that if you had what they had you’d be happier?  Or do you think that if you gave up everything you had, it might not be exactly what you expected.

MOVIE REVIEW – Horrible Bosses

Horrible Bosses

Bosses suck.  Nobody likes their boss unless they are their own boss.  Yea, yea, there are going to be some of you out there that will write in saying things like “my boss really is a good person and respects me.”  But I’ll counter that by saying is that the case all the time?  Probably not.  Most likely not.  Face it, bosses are there for the company and not you.  Some of them are stricter than others, but that doesn’t mean that even the nice ones don’t have the company’s best interest in mind.  Either you perform well, or to the companies standards or you’re going to have to face your boss, probably not in the most comfortable of circumstances.

MOVIE REVIEW – Paul

Paul

Sci-fi geeks and comic book fans all over the world would love to meet an alien in person. Imagine what first contact would be like. Would you even know what to say? Would they look like what we envision an alien to even look like? Most of us believe that the universe is too large to only have one planet that has life out there. Some of us believe the earth has been visited by alien life in the past and are currently visiting us. And some of us fear what might happen if alien life ever did find its way to our planet.
