All is well on the mission of the Ares 3. The manned mission to Mars, is on time and on schedule; nearing the end of their trip to the red planet. After a disastrous windstorm threatens the safety of the crew, the order is given to abort mission and return to the Hermes spacecraft, then Earth. During the evacuation Botanist and mechanical engineer Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is struck by flying debris and separated from the crew. Movie Review – Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier loses some of its charm that made the first movie so successful. The snappy banter has been turned up a notch in The Winter Soldier, but it is a very different movie. Superhero flicks like Man Of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises, tried too hard to be edgy and gritty. Others like Iron man 3 and The Wolverine were awash of pretty colours and high octane action, but little substance in the story.


For the first time since the Avengers in 2012, a superhero movie has seamlessly blended the frenetic pacing and over the top action that we’ve come to expect of these movies ; with a story that is fluid and dare I say relevant story of the morality of freedom.

MOVIE REVIEW – The Apparition

If Insidious and Paranormal Activity had a hideous baby, it would look just like The Apparition. Yes, that is meant in the worst way possible.  Written and directed by Todd Lincoln, The Apparition is everything a horror movie should never be. Released under Dark Castle Entertainment, who has also produced known horror films such as House on Haunted Hill and Orphan, The Apparition could have either been a big hit or a huge miss.

Ordinary men and women always want to do extraordinary things.  It takes a certain breed of individual to want to risk one’s life to serve their country at a time of war.  It’s brave and courageous and those of us that do not wish to serve have a duty to support the troops regardless of whether or not they support the war.  For they are just following orders that they must.  And during World War 2 when Hitler threatened the world with his radical views of a special Arian race, the world united against him.
